I’m always shattered after a weekend at college and know my spleen needs nurturing but I always eat badly on the Monday, I have just finished eating a bacon sandwich and wish I’d read the article sooner it might have kept me on the straight and narrow. I think thats the thing about writing it down its a reminder of just how well or badly you are doing in your planned ‘diet’ be that a healthy on or in my case on a ‘monday post college’ a dreadful one, did I mention the intolerance to wheat :<(

Qi rich vegetables
I’m not at all suprised to read that vegetables make such a difference to our well being. In fact my question (sorry not a comment) to you is, ‘Many people fined this time of year quite depressing, our energy seeming to go down, and therfore our mood with it. I’m wondering if there are any foods which could ameliorate this? As a ‘Fire CF’ I find this time of year particularly hard and would happily add things into my diet to put that smile back on my face-although not so sure if you suggested brussel sprouts that they wouldn’t be a step too far!!

Qi rich vegetable to put a smile back on your face! Hmmm – well brussel sprouts are my favourite vegetable you know!!!! The best ones to have at this time of year are ones that are moist (to counteract the drying nature of winter) and warming (to counteract the cold). So cooked veggies and warming herbs and spices are great. Warming soups are wonderful. something like carrot and corriander soup or pumpkin soup with ginger are both possibilities – also John and I are often having cooked apples for dessert in the evening and putting something like a bit of cinnamon on them. The main thing is to make sure they keep you warm – that warmth should put the smile on your face
